High Speed High Accuracy Visual Sorting System with Delta Robot
Our R&D team originates from Tsinghua University precision instrument laboratory, and the team members are mainly M.Sc and PhD from Technical University Munich, Tsinghua University, BUAA, Tianjin Polytechnic University AND Hefei University of Technology. The core members of the team not only have working or internship experience in famous company like Cognex, but also possess top-level research results in fields such as machine vision and robot.
The delta robot sorts the messy workpieces conveyed here on production line, and then puts the workpieces into bags, cartons, or cases in a regular way or realises other follow-up processing.

Work Principle: The industrial camera takes pictures of the workpieces on the production line, then the machine vision processing system processes the captured image and obtains the coordinate position data of the workpiece. Then the coordinate position data will be sent to the delta robot. The robot sorts the workpiece accurately according to track planning from its present position to the target position.
Features of the visual sorting system:
1. High speed, can replace the work of several sorting workers, and the quality is much better than manual work;
2. High precision, wrong sorting by human workers can be avoided due to lack of experience or eye fatigue;
3. Can work in harsh environment such as high temperature and high radiation which are not suitable for human workers;
4. Have a certain self-learning and self-adaptability, able to learn in depth, with similar ability like workers' sorting experience accumulation.
Overall sorting speed: different sorting speed as per different products, the overall speed of about 60 to 100 pieces per min.
Overall sorting precison: ±3mm
Application: our visual sorting system can be used for the sorting of foodstuff like sausage, cakes, coffee, chocolate, daily necessities such as soap, toothpaste, cigarettes, as well as medical products e.g. Chinese medicine bags, infusion bags and pills.
